How much time should I volunteer?

  • we request a four month, 4 hour/week commitment. (~60 hours)
  • after that commitment is fulfilled, volunteers are welcome to continue for as long as they wish.
  • our staff is available to work with volunteers Tuesday - Friday, 9am - 4pm.
  • volunteers should set up a regular schedule, within the above time constraints.

How do I get started?

  • fill out this form.
  • our staff coordinator will be in touch to arrange next steps.
  • if you've never visited before, we’ll arrange a time for you to stop by to get a feel for what we do
  • once you're in our system, your volunteering will begin with a training session. UNM students can complete this online, but others will need to complete the trainings in person.
  • after that, you will learn as you go!

Thank you for your interest in the Divsion of Mammals!

We look forward to meeting you!
